Stearman Flight Instruction

Stearman flight instruction has “gone wanting” in the Pacific Northwest. Interested pilots have had to travel to Florida, Texas or California. Now it is available at Bremerton National Airport.

This year, we have acquired a PT-17 for just this purpose. Our instructor, Carter Teeters, is a well known pilot/CFI in the region and has over 3,000 Stearman hours. Carter originally flew for us when he first moved to Washington in our open cockpit UPF-7s. He was later “discovered” by the owners of the Historic Aviation collection as well as Paul Allen for the Heritage Flight Collection and flew their Mustangs, Bearcat, Spitfire as well as a notable record in Wildcats and a Russian Antonov. Most recently, Carter was the test pilot for Jim Moss’ Gee Bee “QED” model which was featured in Sport Aviation and debuted at Oshkosh.  Carter is a guest instructor for the military at Edwards Airforce Base and is also a formation clinic instructor. But for all of these accolades, we’ve come to know Carter as a great down to earth humble person whom has a systematic disciplined method of learning and teaching.

All Stearman instruction costs are paid directly to the instructor and is NOT pro-rated with Olde Thyme Aviation. If interested in Stearman instruction, contact Carter directly at
